Daria Scia graduated in piano at D. Cimarosa Conservatory in Avellino and obtained the master’s degree in philosophy at Federico II University in Naples. She studied with Gabriele Manca at G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan and graduated in composition summa cum laude in 2020. In 2021 she finished the Composition Master post degree in the same conservatory. From 2020 she will attend masterclasses of Salvatore Sciarrino at Chigiana Music Academy thanks to a scholarship from Milan Conservatory. In 2020 she won a scholarship for the traineeship post diploma with Klangforum Wien, Tutor Beat Furrer, for the year 2021-2022. From 2021 she is enrolled in the advanced courses with Ivan Fedele at the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia in Rome.
In 2020 she was selected for the project “Theater of the voice” in collaboration with the Conservatory of Milan and Milano Musica Festival. In 2021 she participated in two special projects of the Chigiana Music Academy and in 2022 she was awarded “In memoria di Giorgio Federico Ghedini” prize. Her works have been performed by Syntax ensemble, Prometeo Quartet, Divertimento Ensemble, Noûs Quartet and in the Music Festival Impuls Graz, Impuls Berlin, Chigiana international Festival, Festival Milano Musica, Festival Nuova Consonanza.
